This Week at St. John’s | August 30, 2015

Psalm 89:36Thanks to Janet and Bob Loy, our COFFEE HOUR hosts Sunday. If you wish to participate in this ministry, please use the sign-up sheet in the Narthex.

VACATION RENTAL FUNDRAISER for Social Ministries has begun and continues through September.  Emails about these properties are being sent to all parishioners and brochures are available in the Narthex. Contact each property owner on the brochure to set dates of usage and determine your donation to St. John the Baptist. Donations must be made before October 1, 2015.

TAKE ST. JOHN’S MUSIC MINISTRY TO THE NEXT LEVEL – The music program at St. John’s has contributed to the Parish’s growth and vibrancy over the years. By introducing an Artists in Residence program the impact of our musical offerings will grow exponentially. On Friday, September 18, at 7:00 pm, we’ll host an exciting evening at St. John’s featuring professional singers along with an opportunity for you to give  generously in the paddle raise at this event. This first-of-its-kind event at St. John’s will infuse powerful energy into our mission of making the absolute best music to the Glory of God.

FURNITURE PIECE NEEDED – The Early Christian class (6-8th grades) wants to create a worship space in their classroom. A sofa table, to serve as an altar, would fit nicely. Our Altar Guild is providing altar linens and candles. If you have a table to donate, please contact Mtr. Heather.

CHURCH SCHOOL REGISTRATION kicks off on Sunday, Sept. 13. Parents, teachers and children will be invited to come forward for a blessing at the conclusion of announcements that morning. Teachers will lead the children to their classrooms after the blessing for the first day of Church School.

Please remember that our worship, starting with announcements, begins at 10:00am.

PLEASE ADD YOUR NAME to the “Click for Babies/P.U.R.P.L.E. Hats” sign on the coat closet door in the Narthex. Thank you!

NEXT SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 6 the Revs. Chris Laing and Steve Norcross will be filling in for our “away” priests.

THE RECTOR is out of the office until Wednesday, September 16.
