O God, you declare your almighty power chiefly in showing mercy and pity: Grant us the fullness of your grace, that we, running to obtain your promises, may become partakers of your heavenly treasure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
We have heard today of the cost of discipleship. That we may be empowered to bear the name of Christ, let us pray for ourselves and for the whole world, saying:
Lord, hear our prayer.
The church of God is fragmented; we need the healing of the Holy Spirit. Let us pray for the church.
Lord, hear our prayer.

For many members of our parish, coffee hour is more than a cup of coffee and a few treats to eat. It is a time to enjoy fellowship, celebrate a special day, or to physically connect with each other beyond the sharing of the Peace. Hosting a coffee hour is a simple or complex as you wish to make. In the past few years we have celebrated weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and the confirmation of our parishioners. We have also welcomed new members and thrown a few baby showers. On other Sunday’s coffee hour is simply a time to catch up with each other, or to grab a cup of coffee or tea and head on over to a forum.
Anyone can host a coffee hour. The sign up sheet is located in the narthex. If you have special plans for the coffee hour please check in with the parish office. OES is an ‘Allergy Aware’ campus and they request that the food that is served during coffee hour be nut free.

He called the crowd with his disciples, and said to them, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me’.
O God, because without you we are not able to please you, mercifully grant that your Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
