Sock it To Me Sunday: March 5

When your feet get cold in the winter, do you reach for a pair of warm socks? Our homeless neighbors don’t always have available replacements when they wear out their socks. You can help St. John’s create a tub full of socks by bringing a pair (or pairs) of thick socks on Sunday, February 25th or on March 5. We will bless them on Sock It To Me Sunday and then deliver them to Operation Nightwatch.

Scot Crandal’s Newly Published Collection of Psalms

Scott Crandal PsalmsSome of the most beautiful texts we sing during the liturgy are the Psalms. Lately, we’ve been using some new settings from Scot Crandal’s newly published collection of psalms, The Living Church Acclaims. It uses texts from the Roman Catholic Lectionary which offers a briefer presentation of each Sunday’s psalm. As there are so many translations of the psalms, the verses sometimes differ from what is printed in the bulletin but the refrain will always be the same to ensure our unity while singing out with joy together. More information about Scot’s significant work, The Living Church Acclaims, can be found at zealmusicpublishing.com/tlca.
